The Business Buzz – SA Junk!? Moody’s puts SA on review for downgrade

South Africa has been put on notice for a downgrade by Moody’s Investors Service. If the ratings agency is not satisfied that the country will be able to strengthen its financial position in the medium term, the agency will drop the county’s credit rating to one notch above speculative or “junk” status.

This week on The Business Buzz, we unpack what a downgrade would essentially mean for the South African economy in a discussion with Economist, Xhanti Payi.

“In our Business Wrap”, Financial Advisor Ken Swettenham gives us a recap of this week’s Business, Finance and Economic news.

We are later joined in the conversation by the Director of Nkuna1000, Vongani Nkuna, who enlightens us on the many ways to start investing.

“For our 60 Second Corporate Sell”, the Head of Graduate Recruitment at Deloitte South Africa, Moagi Mpshe, tells us about all the wonderful opportunities that the company has for job seekers and graduates through its graduate recruitment programme.

Our “Rant ‘n Rave” for the week is, Mbongeni Gumede, who tells us what he loves and hates about being a Project Manager.
