Call for entries: Taco Kuiper Awards

The Taco Kuiper Award for Investigative Journalism recognises outstanding examples of journalism, that reveal untold stories, hold the powerful to account, and question those in public life.

 

The top prize is R200 000 and the runner-up wins R100 000. 

 

The award is open to print journalists and broadcasters (which includes online and photography) for stories about South Africa. The call for entries for the 2022 Taco Kuiper Awards is NOW OPEN, inviting you to submit stories published or broadcast in 2021.

 

All entries must be received by Wits Journalism by 14h00 on Friday, 4 February 2022.

Apply for the first semester courses and certificates taking place from 28 February to 7 June 2022. Short courses on offer include Journalism for Communicators, Financial Journalism, Investigative Journalism, and Media Law & Ethics.

 

These courses do not run every year.  The availability, of course depends on student demand as there is a minimum number of registration for courses to proceed. Please note that entry to all courses is subject to the agreement of the course coordinator as some courses may require minimum levels of previous experience.
