In the Editor's Choice category, our winner displayed good leadership
qualities, a firm grasp of the media landscape and its challenges.

She
also plays a key role in her news organization despite being a fairly
newcomer in the journalism industry. The individual also serves as an
inspiration to those inside and outside her organization, showing
insight and knowledge on a variety of key issues and challenges facing
journalists on a daily basis.

The winner will be a good
ambassador for South Africa at the prestigious Thompson Foundation and
an asset to the future for our journalism industry.
