Judges reasons
In the Editor's Choice category, our winner displayed good leadership
qualities, a firm grasp of the media landscape and its challenges.

She
also plays a key role in her news organization despite being a fairly
newcomer in the journalism industry. The individual also serves as an
inspiration to those inside and outside her organization, showing
insight and knowledge on a variety of key issues and challenges facing
journalists on a daily basis.

The winner will be a good
ambassador for South Africa at the prestigious Thompson Foundation and
an asset to the future for our journalism industry.

In nominating
the winner for this award, the editor commented that this individual is
a pillar of strength behind her current team and is a deserving
individual for this category.
