Over the past
few weeks, Americans have been consumed with what to do with radio
personality Don Imus, who called members of Rutgers University’s women
basketball team “nappy-headed hos', writes Xolela Mangcu in Business Day.

The DJ was forced to resign by public outrage, which caused advertisers to desert his shows in droves.  And this showed that there is a solution for racismthat follows neither the South African model of forgiveness, nor criminal prosecution. 

And South Africans might consider that forgiveness need not be automatic, particularly for repeat racists.
