The Department of Journalism, Film and Television at the University of Johannesburg is looking to appoint an Assistant Lecturer. The incumbent will be required to teach on the two degrees in the department, the BA Journalism degree and the BA Film and Television degree.

The Department of Journalism, Film and Television serves approximately 500 undergraduate students and 25 graduate students. The Department currently runs two undergraduate degrees: a BA Journalism degree and a BA Film and television degree in addition to two Honours degrees in Journalism and Film and Television respectively. The department also offers MA and PhD degrees by research.

The candidate will be required to:

Teach across the two undergraduate degrees

Undertake research in the field of journalism, Film and Television

Requirements:

MA degree

Willingness to register for a PhD in the Department (alt. already be registered for a PhD)

Knowledge and experience in the field of Journalism and/or film and television studies.

Ability to teach on a wide variety of the courses offered within the Department.
