Top management of People’s Choice Broadcasting Studios (PCBS), the owners of   Lesotho’s popular PC FM, are being investigated by the police after allegations of fraud surfaced at the radio station, writes Mzimkhulu Sithetho.

According to a local newspaper, Lesotho Times, one of the directors of the radio station, Mohau Thakaso lodged a complaint with the police that some managers and directors could have fraudulently bought shares in the radio station, possibly using the station’s own funds.

Police spokesperson Senior Inspector Moshe Raleting was quoted as confirming  the investigation.

“It is not right for PCBS to have purchased the shares in itself or even to provide the money for the purchase of those shares,” the complainant says.

Meanwhile, the station manager is reported to have refuted the allegations that some of the managers had bought their shares using PC money. She is said to have said: “We are shareholders here and I don’t remember any of us using the company monies to buy shares.”
