The Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, in a joint venture with the Sol Plaatje Institute for Media Leadership, has published a collection of essays and analyses to create a manual entitled Doing digital media in Africa.
The manual deals with the question of how the internet, mobile services, digital networks and other digital media influence the work of African media houses, and what decisions need to be made by management to turn this into a positive feature for the companies' leadership.
The essays are the result of the 7th Media Leadership
Conference, which took place in Kampala, from 25 – 28 May 2008. Managers and editors in chief representing a total of 13 countries, met to
discuss current developments in the media sector. As in previous years,
the conference did not just create network opportunities between media
managers, but also an profound debate about ongoing challenges in the
management area.
