Professor Guy Berger is head of the School of Journalism and Media Studies at Rhodes University, Grahamstown, South Africa. He led the successful bid by Rhodes University to host the 2nd World Journalism Education Congress in South Africa, 5-7 July 2010. He was also co-leader of the 2007 UNESCO project to define and identify potential centres of excellence in African journalism education.
