Health-e News is seeking a videographer/editor intern for 2019
South Africa’s oldest health news service is seeking a videographer with strong editing skills to begin a paid internship in February 2019.
Health-e focuses on 24 minute investigations into health issues, as well as shorter 4 minuters, and social media clips. We have a strong focus on using media to expose unheard human rights abuses in the country. We also produce short promotional video content (5 minutes or less) for the Healthy Living Alliance (HEALA) – the advocacy branch of Health-e.
You would need to be ready to juggle multiple stories and tasks, to take initiative, be able to travel for occasional shoots in other provinces, to shoot interviews on short notice, to plan a shoot (interviews, framing, sound, cut aways) and to edit sometimes on tight deadlines. Innovation and creativity are welcomed.There would be mentorship throughout this internship.
Skills:
Must be able to edit on Adobe Premiere Pro
Experience/familiarity with filming on Sony EX1, DSLR, or Sony PWX70
Research skills to assist with story planning
Good understanding of visual storytelling for different platforms
