A suicidal man who held eight people hostage and wounded a police
officer at the Pretoria News building was finally arrested
after a tense stand-off of nearly four hours, according to a report on iol.co.za.
Police brought him out of the building just after 7pm and put the man into a police van.
National police spokesman Captain Dennis Adriao said neither the man nor the eight hostages , all released two hours earlier, were injured.
Adriao said the man had moved from the first floor to the ground floor on Wednesday evening where a police task force negotiated with him until they could get him out of the building.

Curious onlookers, journalists and Pretoria News acting editor Zingisa Mkhuma watched from the street throughout the drama.
Staff described the man, who held eight members of the newspaper's advertising staff at gunpoint on the first floor of the building, as "very aggressive".
