Johannesburg community station Hot 91.9 is looking for an energetic, motivated radio news intern for a 6 month contract. The intern will receive a monthly stipend and intensive training. Duties:
- Assist the newsroom in delivering accurate and relevant community and Joburg city news to listeners
- Gather sound and information in the field and on the phone
- Edit sound
- Compile and present news reports and packages for bulletins, from the field and in studio
- Maintain contact and build productive relationships with community and other local sources
- Contribute to building the station brand
Skills Requirements:
- A Journalism qualification and/or some radio or journalism experience
- A valid Driver’s Licence
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Good writing skills
- Good English verbal communication skills
(A knowledge of the Hot 91.9 community and broadcast area would be an advantage)
