Deadline:  NOVEMBER 11, 2016

Journalists in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania and Zambia can apply for a grant.

The impactAFRICA initiative from the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) and Code for Africa seeks investigative story pitches, as part of a US$500,000 program for pioneering African data journalism that tackles development issues.

The second of four annual calls for applications is open. Ten projects will be shortlisted from the applications. Three additional cash prizes will be awarded to the best of these projects: for best investigative report; best data-driven story; and best service journalism project.

Proposals should focus on in-depth reportage into hidden, neglected or under-reported health and development issues.

The deadline is Nov. 11.
