The Department of Journalism and Media Studies in the School of Literature, Language and Media is seeking to employ a Lecturer in Journalism Practice. The successful candidate will teach the core journalism skills to our entry-level Honours students, including reporting, researching, interviewing, writing and editing, and mentor them in the production of media. They will also be involved in the development and coordination of the course, in keeping with the changing demands of new media. Candidates should be experienced practitioners committed to excellence in journalism and teaching.

Requirements of a candidate for Lecturer:  PhD or equivalent in terms of experience in journalism (a minimum of five years), with an interest in pursuing a higher degree, and teaching experience. Skills in a range of media types will be an advantage.

Requirements of a candidate for Associate Lecturer: MA. At least three years experience in journalism and some teaching experience. Undertaking to register for a PhD in Journalism and Media Studies.

Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience.
