SABC management has refused to confirm whether a Lotus FM station manager faces suspension, writes Slindile Maluleka in the Daily News.

This follows a meeting on Friday on the fate of the beleaguered Gail Samuels at the radio station.

She has been under fire for four months.

SABC spokesman, Kaizer Kganyago, said he would not talk about Samuels's alleged suspension because the media had just been speculating.

"Allow us to deal with the internal problem and we will communicate the findings once we have concluded with the issue," he said.

Kganyago said he would not comment any further.

The problems at the embattled radio station were put under the spotlight in April this year when two presenters – Vikash Mathura and Ray Maharaj – refused to go on air because of discrepancies that were discovered in their employment contracts.

This was followed by allegations relating to a breach of company policy by CJ Benjamin who hosted the shows Youth Crossfire and Off the Record. She was taken off air in May.
