The staff of Lotus FM are meeting station management at the Commission
for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) on Thursday in a bid
to remove their station manager, according to a report on iol.co.za.
President of the Broadcasting, Electronic, Media and Allied Workers' Union, Hannes du Buisson, said staff at the station were no longer prepared to work for manager Gail Samuels.
"They are generally unhappy about how she is managing the station, there is a decline in listenership since she took over, she's cancelled popular shows," he said.
"There is quite a lot of grievances against her and how she treated staff and so on."
Complaints against Samuels were investigated and she faced a disciplinary hearing and was found guilty, however, the SABC never gave feedback to staff, who later found out she had only been given a final written warning.
