This will be a half-day workshop on media sustainability, with case studies from around the world on what is working
Whether you are a running a journalism start-up, or you are working in an established team or network of investigative journalists, or if you are looking for ideas and advice on how to pay the bills, this workshop is for you. The Global Investigative Journalism Network and the Journalism and Media Lab at Wits Journalism have brought together a team of advisors who will discuss options for fundraising and generating revenue from audiences, advertising and sponsorships.
This will be a practical and interactive workshop so bring your ideas, experiences, questions and problems. You will also be able to reserve one-on-one time with the experts afterwards.
The session will be lead by Global Investigative Journalism Network, UK, Program Director Anne Koch; amaBhungane, South Africa, Managing Partner Stefaans Brümmer; Dapo Olorunyomi publisher and chief executive from the Premium Times/Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Reporting, Nigeria; and Alec Saelens, a researcher from the Membership Puzzle Project, UK.
Registration is required for all those journalists and editors who wish to attend this session. However, you do not need to have registered for the full conference.
