Margaret Renn joined the Department of Journalism at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, as senior fellow in Investigative Journalism in January 2009.

In her 25 years of investigative journalism in the UK, Margaret has worked with the celebrated British investigative journalist Paul Foot on his weekly column in the Daily Mirror and Rough Justice, the BBC’s flagship investigative television programme, dedicated to uncovering miscarriages of justice.

Since 2000 she has been making radio programmes for the BBC World Service and UK domestic stations and before coming to South Africa she also ran the Centre for Investigation Journalism at City University, London, which offers training in investigative journalism.

Margaret is the co-author of Margaret Thatcher, a Bad Case of the Blues, published in 1984.
