Patricia Scholtemeyer, CEO of Media24 Magazines, was named overall winner of the 2007 Vodacom Women in The Media Awards at a luncheon in Johannesburg on Tuesday, reports MarketingWeb.
Scholtemeyer was applauded for her direct role in the creation of 300 jobs this year, through the acquisition and launch of new magazines within the Media24 Magazines stable.
Colleen Lowe Morna, executive director of Gender Links, was announced as runner-up to Scholtemeyer.
Siki Mgabadeli was presented with the Vodacom Rising Star Award – an accolade that applauds the efforts of a woman under the age of 30 who is already making an impact in the media.
