Muyiwa Popoola is a lecturer of Journalism and Mass Communication in the Department of Communication and Media Studies, Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, in Oyo State, Nigeria.
He is a prospective holder of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph D) Degree in Peace and Conflict Studies, Institute of African Studies, University of Ibadan, Nigeria, researching within the spectrum of Media and Conflict Reporting. He is an alumnus of the prestigious University of Lagos, Akoka, Nigeria, where he bagged a Degree of Master of Science (M Sc) in Mass Communication in 2002, with the best departmental performance.
Much earlier, Muyiwa Popoola had graduated from the first indigenous and autonomous University in Nigeria, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, in 1998, with the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Degree in Mass Communication (FIRST CLASS HONOURS), winning the prizes for the best student in the department and faculty.
He has been teaching Journalism and Mass Communication for almost a decade and has contributed articles to local and international scholarly and empirical research devoted journals, while he has written and co -authored a number of textbooks.
He is a member of professional associations like Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON) and African Council on Communication Education (ACCE). His scholarship areas of interest include Media and Conflict Reporting, Print Journalism as well as Public Relations and Advertising
