Three new radio stations received their first listener figures in a
South African Advertising Research Foundation (SAARF) survey released yesterday, writes Edward West in Business Day.
Collected from an urban listener base, the figures provide the first indications of how the stations may fare in future, the foundation said.
Capricorn FM in Limpopo had 35000 listeners a week, MPowerFM in Mpumalanga had 5000 listeners a week and North West FM 66000 listeners a week.
Among the established stations, there was no growth from April to this month , but several gained listeners over the previous year. Gagasi and Kaya FM continued growing.
