Job description
Key Performance Areas

Facilitate, coordinate and implement communications.
Introduce fresh and strategic thought leadership to improve the organization’s communications effort.
Explore innovative, cost-efficient ways of engaging with customers to enlarge the scope and influence of communications in the organization’s strategy.
Provide writing and editing support for all communication materials, website content and other publications.
Update, implement and maintain the online and social media communication platforms.
Produce content for various RAF social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter.
Manage the communications elements to support the brand and organizational image and reputation.
Identifying and pursuing opportunities that might be suitable for engagement in relation to the RAF.
Develop and write project proposals for Communications and Stakeholder engagements.
Feedback and report to Manager Communications and Senior Manager Communications on stakeholder queries and other communications deliverables.
Take photographs.
Ensure proper storage of photographs.
Sharing of photographs with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements – Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science, Marketing and/ or Communications or Journalism/ or equivalent.
5 years related experience in Marketing and/ or Communications environment.
Computer Literacy in MS Office, MS Word and Excel.
Duties and Responsibilities
Purpose of the Job: Reporting to the Manager: Communications, the successful incumbent’s responsibility is to assist with and drive all current and future communication information requirements with employees, the public and customers (claimants) of the Road Accident Fund.

Skills Required
Technical and behavioural competencies required

Strong written and oral communication skills.
Proven ability to write articles, stories, features, media statements.
Proven ability to editing and proofreading.
Proven ability to prepare and supervise the publication of print materials, photography and multimedia programmes.
Proven ability to organize events including media/ press conferences, interviews, open days and press tours.
Proven ability to devise and coordinate photo opportunities.
Proven ability to foster positive community, media and stakeholder relations.
