Sunday Tribune winning stories 2006

Fred Kockott and Sibusiso Ngalwa from the Sunday Tribune shared second place at the 2006 Taco Kuiper Awards for their series named “Ngunigate”.

Ngunigate exposed KZN abuse
of the national Nguni cattle herd and the Ithala Finance Development
Corporation.

The investigation prompted the Standing Commission on
Public accounts to ask the MEC of agriculture to investigate the
misappropriation of fund in the department.
