The 16th annual African Investigative Journalism Conference - Virtual edition

The work of investigative journalists is too important to slow down during a pandemic. And the role of our African Investigative Journalism Conference (AIJC2020) in highlighting and boosting African investigative reporting is too vital to stop.

So this year we have special plans for the continent’s biggest annual gathering of working journalists.

AIJC2020 will be a virtual gathering, a series of online events spread over the month of October. There will be a full and rich programme and many opportunities to engage with colleagues, network with the best on the continent, share your work, and learn about what is happening on the cutting edge of in-depth reporting and data journalism tools and techniques.

We will be releasing details of the programme in coming weeks and of fellowships to enable (virtual) participation.

Skills courses at Wits Journalism to be offered on a blended basis

Wits Journalism’s popular skills courses have been reconfigured in the light of the Covid-19 crisis. Usually offered in a block-release format (two weeks full-time) during the mid-year break, they will now be offered on a blended basis in the second semester, starting mid-July.

The courses are aimed at Wits Journalism's postgraduate students, both career-entry and mid-career, but are also available to certificate students.

See the list of all offered courses and starting dates.
