The Press Council of South Africa, born in 2013, came under the spotlight at Wits University on 21 May 2014 for review. Topics that were at discussed included:

  • If it was fit for purpose
  • How effective it had been in the year that had passed since its inception

 

 

Professor Anton Harber, the Caxton Professor of Journalism and Media studies and Director of the Journalism Programme at the University and Judge Phillip Levisohn, Chair of the Press Council facilitated a discussion with some key role players in the media industry.
